In Friday's league match, the host Sumter Gamecocks basketball team scored a decisive 48-16 triumph over the St. James Sharks.

In their next game, the Gamecocks meet the Conway Tigers (Conway, SC) in a AAAAA Region 5 match, on Tuesday, February 7. Sumter will attempt to better on its 15-5 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 6-14 record after their 43-25 league loss to Socastee (Myrtle Beach, SC).
