Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), 50-14 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Alexander Central upgrades its record to 16-0 on the season. The Cougars host Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 5-7.
Next up, the Spartans clash with the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 7. South Caldwell will attempt to upgrade on its 1-10 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 6-11 record after their 25-12 non-league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC).
