St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), 54-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, St. Pius X upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Sartans travel to Grants (Grants, NM) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 2-5. Grants lost 61-56 in their recent non-league bout against Valencia (Los Lunas, NM)

Next up, the Eagles play the Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Belen will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Hornets come into the bout with a 2-13 record after their 76-49 non-league loss to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM).
