The West Valley Eagles basketball team (Cottonwood, CA), was nudged 61-54 in Friday's league battle with the host University Prep Panthers (Redding, CA)

The Panthers now possess a 13-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lassen for a battle on Wednesday, February 8. University Prep will battle a Grizzlies team coming off a 57-36 league win over Central Valley (Shasta Lake, CA). The Grizzlies record now stands at 14-5.

The Eagles (8-15) will now prepare for their battle against Yreka (Yreka, CA). The Miners come into the battle with a 12-3 record. In their last battle, Yreka edged Anderson (Anderson, CA), 64-40, in a league battle.
