Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes (Abingdon, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Stark County Rebels (Toulon, IL), 39-28 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Abingdon/Avon upgrades its record to 13-13 on the season. The Tornadoes host Biggsville West Central (Biggsville, IL) to play the Heat in a Lincoln Trail bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Heat go into the bout with a record of 1-25. Biggsville West Central lost 76-53 in their recent non-league bout against Knoxville (Knoxville, IL)

Next up, the Rebels play the Henry-Senachwine Mallards (Henry, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 5. Stark County will attempt to upgrade on its 15-10 season record. The Mallards go into the bout with a 9-14 record after their 50-26 non-league win over Leland (Leland, IL).
