In Saturday's league outing, the University Prep Griffins (Rochester, NY) basketball squad edged the visiting Aquinas Institute Little Irish (Rochester, NY), by a count of 55-50.

The Griffins (8-7) will now prepare for their outing against McQuaid Jesuit (Rochester, NY). The Knights go into the Section 5 Rochester City - Upper outing with a 6-11 record. In their last outing, McQuaid Jesuit was tipped by East (Rochester, NY), 68-46, in a league bout.

Next up, the Little Irish play the Bishop Kearney Kings (Rochester, NY) in a Section 5 Private Parochial bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Aquinas Institute will attempt to upgrade on its 14-4 season record. The Kings come into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 91-56 league win over Vertus (Rochester, NY).
