Dayton Pirates (Dayton, OR) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Scio Loggers (Scio, OR), 74-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Dayton upgrades its record to 16-6 on the season. The Pirates travel to Sheridan (Sheridan, OR) to play the Spartans in a 3A PacWest bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 4-17. Sheridan lost 73-22 in their recent league bout against Amity (Amity, OR)

Next up, the Loggers play the Gervais Cougars (Gervais, OR) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 5. Scio will attempt to upgrade on its 12-10 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 14-6 record after their 53-38 league win over Salem Academy (Salem, OR).
