Faribault Falcons (Faribault, MN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Red Wing Wingers (Red Wing, MN), 79-74 in a league bout.

With the victory, Faribault upgrades its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Falcons host Austin (Austin, MN) to play the Packers in a AAA Section 1 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Packers come into the bout with a record of 6-12. Austin lost 71-66 in their recent non-league bout against Owatonna (Owatonna, MN)

Next up, the Wingers play the Mayo Spartans (Rochester, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Red Wing will attempt to upgrade on its 7-12 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 79-72 non-league loss to Mankato West (Mankato, MN).
