The Johnston City Indians (Johnston City, IL) basketball nipped the host Hardin County Cougars (Elizabethtown, IL), 61-59 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Indians (10-16) will now prepare for their test against Christopher (Christopher, IL). The Bearcats go into the Black Diamond - West test with a 12-13 record. In their last test, Christopher was tipped by Goreville (Goreville, IL), 56-42, in a league test.

The Cougars now own a 12-10 record. They play next when they travel to Century for a non-league test on Monday, February 5. Hardin County will encounter a Centurions squad coming off a 67-31 league win over Egyptian (Tamms, IL). The Centurions record now stands at 17-10.
