Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Newman Catholic Knights (Mason City, IA) and the visiting North Butler Bearcats (Greene, IA), saw Newman Catholic's basketball squad knock off North Butler by a count of 56-44.

With the victory, Newman Catholic upgrades its record to 14-7 on the campaign. The Knights host Dunkerton (Dunkerton, IA) to play the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Monday, February 5. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 16-2. Dunkerton won 83-46 in their recent league challenge against Clarksville (Clarksville, IA)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Nashua-Plainfield Huskies (Nashua, IA) in a Corn Bowl challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. North Butler will attempt to upgrade on its 6-14 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 8-12 record after their 78-73 league win over Rockford (Rockford, IA).
