The Union County Panthers basketball team (Blairsville, GA), was nudged 71-68 in Saturday's league battle with the host Providence Christian Academy Storm (Lilburn, GA)

The Storm now possess a 15-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Banks County for a AA Region 8 battle on Tuesday, February 6. Providence Christian Academy will battle a Leopards team coming off a 69-63 league loss to Athens Academy (Athens, GA). The Leopards record now stands at 14-10.

The Panthers (19-5) will now prepare for their battle against Fellowship Christian (Roswell, GA). The Paladins come into the AA Region 8 battle with a 8-15 record. In their last battle, Fellowship Christian edged Whitefield Academy (Mableton, GA), 53-47, in a non-league battle.
