Sidney Red Raiders (Sidney, NE) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Scottsbluff Bearcats (Scottsbluff, NE), 58-51 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sidney upgrades its record to 18-2 on the campaign. The Red Raiders host Chadron (Chadron, NE) to play the Cardinals in a C1 District 12 bout on Friday, February 9. The Cardinals come into the bout with a record of 14-7. Chadron won 63-53 in their recent non-league bout against Valentine (Valentine, NE)

Next up, the Bearcats play the North Platte Bulldogs (North Platte, NE) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 9. Scottsbluff will attempt to upgrade on its 15-5 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 58-53 non-league win over Hastings (Hastings, NE).
