Solon Spartans (Solon, IA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host West Delaware Hawks (Manchester, IA), 72-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Solon upgrades its record to 18-0 on the season. The Spartans host Independence (Independence, IA) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 6-11.

Next up, the Hawks play the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) in a WAMAC - East bout, on Tuesday, February 6. West Delaware will attempt to upgrade on its 2-16 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 10-8 record after their 56-46 league loss to Solon (Solon, IA).
