The Monticello Panthers basketball team scored 45 points and held the visiting Bellevue Comets to 25 in the Panthers league triumph on Saturday.
The Panthers now sport a 16-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Camanche for a Freelance contest on Tuesday, February 6. Monticello will meet a Indians team coming off a 68-32 non-league loss to Maquoketa (Maquoketa, IA). The Indians record now stands at 7-14.
The Comets (7-11) will now prepare for their contest against Maquoketa (Maquoketa, IA). The Cardinals enter the non-league contest with a 19-3 record. In their last contest, Maquoketa ran past Anamosa (Anamosa, IA), 64-27, in a non-league contest.
