In Saturday's non-league outing, the Carroll Tigers (Carroll, IA) basketball squad felled the visiting Denison-Schleswig Monarchs (Denison, IA), by a margin of 48-35.

The Tigers (10-8) will now prepare for their outing against Gilbert (Gilbert, IA). The Tigers go into the Raccoon River outing with a 9-9 record. In their last outing, Gilbert was beaten by Bondurant-Farrar (Bondurant, IA), 52-45, in a league outing.

The Monarchs now own a 8-10 record. They play next when they travel to Kuemper for a Hawkeye Ten outing on Tuesday, February 6. Denison-Schleswig will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 38-27 league win over Shenandoah (Shenandoah, IA). The Knights record now stands at 7-13.
