Daniel Boone Trailblazers (Gray, TN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA), 77-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Daniel Boone upgrades its record to 13-7 on the season. The Trailblazers travel to Science Hill (Johnson City, TN) to clash with the Hilltoppers in a 4A District 1 bout on Friday, February 9. The Hilltoppers go into the bout with a record of 10-13. Science Hill lost 42-34 in their recent non-league bout against Elizabethton (Elizabethton, TN)

Next up, the Blue Devils clash with the Union Bears (Big Stone Gap, VA) in a Mountain bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Gate City will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 7-12 record after their 58-25 league loss to Central Wise (Norton, VA).
