Des Moines Demons (Des Moines, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM), 51-33 in a league bout.

With the victory, Des Moines upgrades its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The Demons travel to Questa (Questa, NM) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 13-6. Questa lost 67-52 in their recent league bout against Mesa Vista (Ojo Caliente, NM)

Next up, the Bears play the Cimarron Rams (Cimarron, NM) in a A District 5 bout, on Thursday, February 8. Maxwell will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Rams come into the bout with a 8-11 record after their 60-36 non-league loss to Logan (Logan, NM).
