The Emporia Spartans basketball team scored 48 points and held the visiting Junction City/St. Xavier Bluejays to 14 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Spartans now sport a 12-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hayden for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 6. Emporia will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 57-54 non-league win over Manhattan (Manhattan, KS). The Wildcats record now stands at 15-1.
The Bluejays (1-8) will now prepare for their contest against Washburn Rural (Topeka, KS). The Blues enter the non-league contest with a 8-5 record. In their last contest, Washburn Rural triumphed over Manhattan (Manhattan, KS), 61-59, in a non-league contest.
