Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Houlton Shiretowners (Houlton, ME), 52-25 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mount Desert Island upgrades its record to 13-5 on the campaign. The Trojans host Ellsworth (Ellsworth, ME) to play the Eagles in a B North bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 17-0. Ellsworth won 91-33 in their recent league bout against Washington Academy (East Machias, ME)

Next up, the Shiretowners play the Old Town Coyotes (Old Town, ME) in a B North bout, on Wednesday, February 7. Houlton will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Coyotes come into the game with a 16-2 record after their 61-58 league win over Caribou (Caribou, ME).
