In Monday's league contest, the visiting Beecher Buccaneers basketball team scored a close 47-46 triumph over the Flint Southwestern Academy Knights.

The Buccaneers (6-9) will now prepare for their contest against International Academy (Flint, MI). The Phoenix go into the Genesee Area - Red contest with a 13-3 record. In their last contest, International Academy was tipped by Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South (Calumet City, IL), 62-55, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Knights confront the Bentley Bulldogs (Burton, MI) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, February 5. Flint Southwestern Academy will attempt to better on its 2-11 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 11-6 record after their 71-22 non-league win over Landmark Academy (Kimball, MI).
