The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Monroe Golden Tornadoes (Albany, GA) and the visiting Cairo Syrupmakers (Cairo, GA), observed Monroe's basketball team overwhelm Cairo by a score of 74-34.

The Golden Tornadoes (15-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Peach County (Fort Valley, GA). The Trojans come into the AAA Region 1 challenge with a 7-13 record. In their last challenge, Peach County trounced Bainbridge (Bainbridge, GA), 38-34, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Syrupmakers encounter the Westover Patriots (Albany, GA) in a AAA Region 1 challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Cairo will attempt to improve on its 4-16 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 14-5 record after their 71-60 league win over Dougherty (Albany, GA).
