In Monday's non-league contest, the visiting North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland/Munich/Starkweather] Bearcats basketball team scored a close 61-54 triumph over the Cavalier Tornadoes.

The Bearcats (4-7) will now prepare for their contest against St. John (St. John, ND). The Woodchucks come into the non-league challenge with a 5-10 record.

In their next game, the Tornadoes encounter the Park River/Fordville-Lankin Aggies (Park River, ND) in a B District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Cavalier will attempt to improve on its 1-14 season record. The Aggies come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 61-42 league win over North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette] (Rolla, ND).
