In Monday's league contest, the visiting Cumberland Dukes basketball team scored a good 35-26 triumph over the Nottoway Cougars.
The Dukes (12-6) will now prepare for their contest against Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA). The Eagles go into the James River contest with a 18-0 record. In their last contest, Prince Edward County topped Nottoway (Nottoway, VA), 59-7, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Cougars confront the Randolph-Henry Statesmen (Charlotte Court House, VA) in a James River contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Nottoway will attempt to better on its 5-12 season record. The Statesmen go into the contest with a 1-14 record after their 47-19 non-league loss to William Campbell (Naruna, VA).
