In Monday's league test, the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers (Erie, PA) basketball squad knocked off the host Union City Bears (Union City, PA), by a score of 50-33.

Next, the Lakers clash with the Girard Yellowjackets (Girard, PA) in a District 10 Region 3 test, on Thursday, February 6. Mercyhurst Prep will attempt to improve on its 7-6 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the test with a 4-12 record after their 45-13 league win over Iroquois (Erie, PA).

The Bears (7-12) will now prepare for their test against North East (North East, PA). The Grape Pickers come into the District 10 Region 3 test with a 6-9 record. In their last test, North East beat Iroquois (Erie, PA), 53-15, in a league test.
