Iowa High School Basketball - Beckman tipped by Mt. Vernon

The Mt. Vernon Mustangs basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Beckman Trailblazers to 52 in the Mustangs league triumph on Friday.
The Mustangs now sport a 11-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Solon for a WAMAC - East contest on Tuesday, February 8. Mt. Vernon will meet a Spartans team coming off a 53-44 league win over Maquoketa (Maquoketa, IA). The Spartans record now stands at 12-7.
The Trailblazers (6-12) will now prepare for their contest against Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA). The Stormin' Pointers enter the non-league contest with a 5-12 record. In their last contest, Center Point-Urbana was nudged by Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA), 61-48, in a league contest.
