The Metcalfe County Hornets basketball team scored 68 points and held the visiting Cumberland County Panthers to 60 in the Hornets league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now sport a 15-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Greenwood for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 5. Metcalfe County will meet a Gators team coming off a 44-32 non-league win over Barren County (Glasgow, KY). The Gators record now stands at 19-3.

The Panthers (5-10) will now prepare for their contest against Russell County (Russell Springs, KY). The Lakers enter the District 16 contest with a 3-17 record. In their last contest, Russell County was defeated by South Warren (Bowling Green, KY), 88-29, in a non-league contest.
