The Murphysboro Red Devils basketball team scored 26 points and held the visiting Herrin Tigers to 24 in the Red Devils league triumph on Friday.
The Red Devils now sport a 22-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Frankfort for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio contest on Friday, February 11. Murphysboro will meet a Redbirds team coming off a 71-47 league loss to Benton (Benton, IL). The Redbirds record now stands at 3-21.
The Tigers (17-6) will now prepare for their contest against Massac County (Metropolis, IL). The Patriots enter the Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio contest with a 18-8 record. In their last contest, Massac County was nudged by DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL), 65-61, in a non-league contest.
