The Denison-Schleswig Monarchs (Denison, IA) basketball nipped the visiting Atlantic Trojans (Atlantic, IA), 38-32 in Friday's league test.
The Monarchs (7-9) will now prepare for their test against Carroll (Carroll, IA). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 7-9 record. In their last test, Carroll got by Boone (Boone, IA), 51-38, in a league test.
The Trojans now own a 8-11 record. They play next when they travel to Harlan for a Hawkeye Ten test on Tuesday, February 8. Atlantic will encounter a Cyclones squad coming off a 45-39 league win over Lewis Central (Council Bluffs, IA). The Cyclones record now stands at 13-8.
