Georgia High School Basketball - Appling County thwarts Jeff Davis

The Appling County Pirates (Baxley, GA) basketball knocked off the visiting Jeff Davis Yellowjackets (Hazlehurst, GA), 66-56 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Pirates (3-13) will now prepare for their test against Pierce County (Blackshear, GA). The Bears go into the AA Region 3 test with a 7-14 record. In their last test, Pierce County went down by Windsor Forest (Savannah, GA), 74-32, in a league test.
The Yellowjackets now own a 6-16 record. They play next when they host Cook for a AA Region 1 test on Tuesday, February 7. Jeff Davis will encounter a Hornets squad coming off a 85-45 league win over Worth County (Sylvester, GA). The Hornets record now stands at 6-16.
