In Saturday's league outing, the Cranston East Thunderbolts (Cranston, RI) basketball squad nipped the visiting Woonsocket Villa Novans (Woonsocket, RI), by a margin of 52-46.
The Thunderbolts (7-11) will now prepare for their outing against Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI). The Patriots go into the State Championship outing with a 9-7 record. In their last outing, Portsmouth nudged North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI), 56-40, in a league match.
With the defeat, Woonsocket moves to 6-11 on the year. The Villa novans travel to Westerly (Westerly, RI) to meet the Bulldogs in a State Championship match on Wednesday, February 8. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 5-11. Westerly lost 48-40 in their recent league match against Cumberland (Cumberland, RI)
