The Melissa Cardinals basketball team scored 68 points and restricted the host Denison Yellow Jackets to 55 in the Cardinals league victory on Saturday.

The Cardinals now sport a 17-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McKinney North for a 5A Region II District 13 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Melissa will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 61-38 league loss to Lovejoy (Lucas, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-15.

The Yellow Jackets (8-19) will now prepare for their contest against Sherman (Sherman, TX). The Bearcats come into the 5A Region II District 13 contest with a 10-14 record. In their last contest, Sherman was defeated by Greenville (Greenville, TX), 51-43, in a league contest.
