The Hermleigh Cardinals (Hermleigh, TX) basketball knocked off the host Highland Hornets (Roscoe, TX), 44-28 in Saturday's league test.

The Cardinals (20-10) will now prepare for their test against Westbrook (Westbrook, TX). The Wildcats go into the 1A Region II District 14 test with a 9-4 record. In their last test, Westbrook went down by Loraine (Loraine, TX), 55-51, in a league outing.

The Hornets now hold a 4-16 record. They play next when they host Ira for a 1A Region II District 14 outing on Tuesday, February 7. Highland will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 68-32 league win over Trent (Trent, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 15-8.
