Johnson County Trojans (Wrightsville, GA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA), 66-63 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Johnson County upgrades its record to 4-12 on the campaign. The Trojans host Twiggs County (Jeffersonville, GA) to play the Cobras in a A D2 Region 5 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Cobras come into the bout with a record of 6-17. Twiggs County lost 85-52 in their recent non-league bout against East Laurens (East Dublin, GA)

Next up, the Gamecocks play the Jefferson County Warriors (Louisville, GA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 10. Screven County will attempt to upgrade on its 7-15 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 7-17 record after their 50-37 league loss to Dublin (Dublin, GA).
