Powers Cruisers (Powers, OR) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Mapleton Sailors (Mapleton, OR), 61-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Powers upgrades its record to 5-12 on the campaign. The Cruisers travel to Glendale (Glendale, OR) to play the Pirates in a 1A Skyline bout on Friday, February 10. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 0-18. Glendale lost 74-30 in their recent league bout against New Hope Christian (Grants Pass, OR)

Next up, the Sailors play the Siletz Valley (Siletz, OR) in a 1A Mountain West bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Mapleton will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The come into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 67-26 league loss to Mohawk (Marcola, OR).
