McLoughlin Pioneers (Milton-Freewater, OR) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Nyssa Bulldogs (Nyssa, OR), 57-49 in a league bout.

With the win, McLoughlin upgrades its record to 4-15 on the season. The Pioneers travel to Riverside (Boardman, OR) to clash with the Pirates in a 3A Eastern Oregon bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 2-16. Riverside lost 36-26 in their recent league bout against Burns (Burns, OR)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Vale Vikings (Vale, OR) in a 3A Eastern Oregon bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Nyssa will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 12-10 record after their 55-52 league win over Umatilla (Umatilla, OR).
