The Trico Pioneers basketball team scored 74 points and held the host Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes to 53 in the Pioneers league triumph on Saturday.
The Pioneers now sport a 5-23 record. They put it on the line next when they host Carterville for a non-league contest on Friday, February 10. Trico will battle a Lions team coming off a 58-41 non-league loss to Massac County (Metropolis, IL). The Lions record now stands at 20-6.
The Tornadoes (5-19) will now prepare for their contest against Webber (Bluford, IL). The Trojans enter the non-league contest with a 15-10 record. In their last contest, Webber was routed by Farina South Central (Farina, IL), 56-52, in a non-league contest.
