Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), 55-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Farmington upgrades its record to 19-0 on the season. The Scorpions host West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 11-5. West Mesa lost 56-55 in their recent non-league bout against La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Matadors play the Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 6. Sandia will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 9-4 record after their 59-52 non-league loss to Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM).
