Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls (Cliff, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Animas Panthers (Animas, NM), 44-34 in a league bout.
With the win, Cliff upgrades its record to 17-3 on the season. The Cowboys/Cowgirls host Quemado (Quemado, NM) to play the Eagles in a A District 2 bout on Thursday, February 9. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 15-6.
Next up, the Panthers play the Lordsburg Mavericks (Lordsburg, NM) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 6. Animas will attempt to upgrade on its 13-7 season record. The Mavericks go into the bout with a 10-9 record after their 49-39 league loss to Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM).
