Cooper Cougars (Abilene, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), 67-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Cooper upgrades its record to 20-13 on the season. The Cougars travel to Coronado (Lubbock, TX) to clash with the Mustangs in a 5A Region I District 4 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 22-11.

Next up, the Westerners clash with the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region I District 4 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Lubbock will attempt to upgrade on its 20-13 season record. The Plainsmen go into the bout with a 26-3 record after their 96-28 league win over Cooper (Abilene, TX).
