McGehee Owls (McGehee, AR) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Drew Central Pirates (Monticello, AR), 53-33 in a league bout.

With the victory, McGehee upgrades its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Owls host Dumas (Dumas, AR) to play the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 8. The Bobcats come into the bout with a record of 12-3. Dumas won 67-23 in their recent league bout against Harmony Grove (Camden, AR)

Next up, the Pirates play the DeWitt Dragons (DeWitt, AR) in a 3A Region 8 bout, on Friday, February 10. Drew Central will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Dragons come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 50-14 league win over Dollarway (Pine Bluff, AR).
