The Grand Island Vikings basketball team (Grand Island, NY), was routed 59-29 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Starpoint Spartans (Lockport, NY)

The Spartans now sport a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Amherst Central for a Section 6 Erie County II battle on Monday, February 6. Starpoint will battle a Tigers team coming off a 73-54 league win over Williamsville East (East Amherst, NY). The Tigers record now stands at 7-8.

The Vikings (6-11) will now prepare for their battle against Charter School for Applied Tech (Buffalo, NY). The Eagles come into the Section 6 Niagara - Frontier battle with a 6-11 record. In their last battle, Charter School for Applied Tech trounced Kenmore East (Tonawanda, NY), 38-16, in a league battle.
