In Tuesday's league test, the Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) basketball squad defeated the host Valencia Jaguars (Los Lunas, NM), by a score of 66-52.
Next, the Eagles clash with the St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 5 test, on Thursday, February 6. Belen will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Sartans come into the test with a 16-5 record after their 53-47 league win over Highland (Albuquerque, NM).
The Jaguars (8-13) will now prepare for their test against Grants (Grants, NM). The Pirates come into the 4A District 5 test with a 11-10 record. In their last test, Grants went down by Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM), 47-44, in a non-league test.
