The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA) and the host Hudson Pirates (Hudson, IA), observed Columbus's basketball team knock off Hudson by a score of 44-27.

The Sailors (9-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Jesup (Jesup, IA). The J-Hawks come into the non-league challenge with a 10-8 record. In their last challenge, Jesup prevailed over Wapsie Valley (Fairbank, IA), 57-55, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Pirates encounter the Wapsie Valley Warriors (Fairbank, IA) in a North Iowa Cedar - East challenge, on Friday, February 7. Hudson will attempt to improve on its 4-15 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 8-11 record after their 71-44 non-league loss to Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA).
