The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) and the host Cumberland Academy Knights (Tyler, TX), observed Gilmer's basketball team knock off Cumberland Academy by a score of 54-46.

The Buckeyes (12-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Spring Hill (Longview, TX). The Panthers come into the 4A Region II District 16 challenge with a 10-22 record. In their last challenge, Spring Hill dropped by Chapel Hill (Tyler, TX), 77-18, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Knights battle the Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 challenge, on Friday, February 7. Cumberland Academy will attempt to improve on its 9-19 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 18-12 record after their 57-41 league win over Carthage (Carthage, TX).
