In Tuesday's league contest, the host North Smithfield Northmen basketball team scored a close 62-61 win over the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights.

The Northmen (9-9) will now prepare for their contest against Providence Country Day (East Providence, RI). The Knights come into the Division III contest with a 8-9 record. In their last contest, Providence Country Day edged Block Island (New Shoreham, RI), 57-16, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Scarlet Knights battle the Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI) in a Division III contest, on Saturday, February 8. Exeter-West Greenwich will attempt to better on its 9-7 season record. The Crusaders come into the contest with a 12-7 record after their 66-48 league win over Davies Career & Tech (Lincoln, RI).
