The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Hopewell Blue Devils (Hopewell, VA) and the host Meadowbrook Monarchs (Richmond, VA), observed Hopewell's basketball team knock off Meadowbrook by a score of 72-58.

The Blue Devils (16-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Matoaca (Chesterfield, VA). The Warriors come into the Central challenge with a 8-11 record. In their last challenge, Matoaca prevailed over Petersburg (Petersburg, VA), 53-47, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Monarchs encounter the Thomas Dale Knights (Chester, VA) in a Central challenge, on Friday, February 7. Meadowbrook will attempt to improve on its 6-10 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 11-6 record after their 70-52 league win over Dinwiddie (Dinwiddie, VA).
