The Monessen Greyhounds defeated the visiting St. Joseph Spartans basketball squad by a final score of 67-51 in Tuesday's league outing.
Next, the Greyhounds clash with the Geibel Catholic Gators (Connellsville, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 2 outing, on Friday, February 7. Monessen will attempt to upgrade on its 12-6 season record. The Gators come into the outing with a 12-9 record after their 75-42 league win over Environmental Charter (Pittsburgh, PA).
The Spartans (7-13) will now prepare for their outing against Neighborhood Academy (Pittsburgh, PA). The come into the WPIAL 1A 2 outing with a 20-1 record. In their last outing, Neighborhood Academy overcame Serra Catholic (McKeesport, PA), 84-58, in a league outing.
