The Cape Hatteras Hurricanes basketball team scored 50 points and limited the visiting Mattamuskeet Lakers to 15 in the Hurricanes league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hurricanes now possess a 7-7 record. They play next when they travel to Ocracoke for a 1A Atlantic game on Friday, February 7. Cape Hatteras will play a Dolphins team coming off a 60-35 league loss to Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC). The Dolphins record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Mattamuskeet falls to 1-12 on the campaign. The Lakers travel to Washington Montessori (Washington, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league game on Thursday, February 6. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 0-4. Washington Montessori lost 62-26 in their recent non-league game against Jacksonville Christian Academy (Jacksonville, NC)
