South Carolina High School Basketball - May River can't hold off Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head Island Seahawks (Hilton Head Island, SC) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host May River Sharks (Bluffton, SC), 26-24 in a league match.

With the victory, Hilton Head Island advances its record to 6-12 on the year. The Seahawks host Colleton County (Walterboro, SC) to face the Cougars in a AAAA Region 6 match on Friday, February 7. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 6-15. Colleton County lost 65-38 in their recent league match against Bishop England (Charleston, SC)

The Sharks now own a 8-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Beaufort for a AAAA Region 6 match on Friday, February 7. May River will face a Eagles squad coming off a 72-44 league loss to Bishop England (Charleston, SC). The Eagles record now stands at 12-8.
