Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad prevail over the host West Hall Spartans (Oakwood, GA), 50-42 in a league battle.

With the victory, Monroe Area advances its record to 8-16 on the year. The Purple Hurricanes host Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA) to meet the Warriors in a AAA Region 8 battle on Friday, February 7. The Warriors enter the battle with a record of 18-6. Oconee County won 49-46 in their recent league battle against Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA)

The Spartans now own a 4-19 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cristo Rey Atlanta for a non-league battle on Thursday, February 6. West Hall will meet a squad coming off a 71-24 non-league loss to Whitefield Academy (Mableton, GA). The record now stands at 0-14.
